Not only is your help in supplying clavinovas and emergency upright pianos appreciated but your donation of pianos to the Pianos Everywhere scheme on Friday made the Competition an extra special event. When I arrived at Leeds Station on Friday morning there was a real buzz in the atmosphere as the red upright piano was played. I also witnessed the piano in The Queens Hotel, where there were television cameras and also your Steinway in Millenium Square.
The winner of the 2006 Leeds International Pianoforte Competition, 18 year old Korean Sunwook Kim, is a very fine choice and I am sure he will be playing in Leeds shortly.
