Joshua Kelly Biography Joshua Kelly currently studies at Leeds College of Music under the direction of Nico de Villiers.
Throughout his formative years, Joshua studied towards his ABRSM Grade 8 distinction under the direction of Raymond Kelly whilst completing his GCSE and A-Level qualifications at high school and sixth form college.
Having enrolled at the conservatoire, Joshua has developed his knowledge and interpretation of a wide range of repertoire in both solo and chamber settings. He has worked in professional piano duets, trio's and quintets allowing a firm grasp of ensemble development in other areas of compositional technique. Joshua is currently working towards a series of recitals with his current trio, engaging with Mozart, Beethoven, Rachmaninov and Schoenberg. Joshua's conservatoire exposure has allowed for the numerous masterclasses with world renowned pianist, Wolfgang Manz and his entry to the International Piano Festival in Warsaw 2014. Joshua has engaged in numerous recitals, lunchtime concerts and festivals since his admission to the conservatoire in 2011.
Joshua's inspirational figure, Vladimir Horowitz, has been an important landmark during his education regarding pianistic and intrinsic musical features relating to tone colour. His admiration of the piano giant and his unique conception of the piano repertoire has guided the individualistic style Joshua employs. Joshua hopes to further his career on the concert platform and continue studying through his masters degree in the fall.
