On 14th August 2024 we welcome esteemed Chinese pianist, Li Can to our intimate, Steinway showroom for a free afternoon concert. A precursor to the inauguration of a summer piano school in Leeds and London, Li Can is touring the UK with eight young Chinese pianists and potential future stars for a cultural programme. Next Wednesday, encircled by our fleet of Steinway pianos, Li Can will delight the young audience with a selection of pieces from Beethoven, Brahms, Chopin and Mozart and we invite you to join us.
Graduate of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and Royal Academy of Music, this promises to be a stand-out summer, performance.

Having participated in regional competitions from an early age, at the age of 9, Li Can won the Xinghai Competition in 2000. In 2007, she commenced her studies under Ming Liu at the Middle School affiliated with the Xinghai Conservatory in Guangzhou. During this period she undertook masterclasses with Shuo Huang and Gaode Dai. In 2010 she entered the Shanghai Conservatory of Music to study under Gaode Dai. In 2012, she was invited to to play a unique, gold Bechstein piano on exhibition in Shanghai and later recorded a CD on this piano for Bechstein in 2013. In 2012 she attended the International Keyboard Institute and Festival in New York where she had lessons with Nina Tichman, Nina Lelchuk and Yuan Sheng. Li Can is now a postgraduate at the Royal Academy of Music, studying under Colin Stone.
